What Customers Say About WiLife WLAL-54 Indoor Camera Lens:

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1REZOSKJ8AZL9 Here is a quick comparison video of the standard 80 degree lens to the accessory 54 degree lens. After using the 80 degree lens for a month I decided that I just wasn't seeing enough clarity on objects more than 10 feet away from the camera. As you watch notice how the 54 degree lens seems to zoom in on everything to provide better image quality. Both distant and near objects are much clearer with this lens. In the video comparison, the first segment uses my 80 degree lens and the second segment uses the 54 degree lens.

The 54 degree lens goes in to a point where you'll need something small, flat, and thin to help make the final focusing adjustments. Pay close attention to the quality of the car in the foreground (10 feet from camera) and the quality of the dark blue van parked way across the street (80 feet from camera) at a neighbor's house. I've had the 54 degree lens in the camera for several days now and I think it consistently provides a better image than the 80 degree lens that comes with the camera. The installation was very easy. I used a guitar pick. One negative I have found with this lens is that its low light capabilities are not as good as the 80 degree lens. Simply unscrew the 80 degree lens from the camera and then carefully screw in the 54 degree lens while focusing with the camera plugged in near the computer. The 54 degree lens turned out to be just what I needed.

Both are larger and clearer with the 54 degree lens. Not sure why this is but with the same lighting I'm not seeing as much at night as I used to be able to. The only trade-off is a slightly smaller viewing angle but I think it's worth it for the improved image clarity. The person is about 15 feet away from the camera in both segments.
